Setting up your Auto Invest strategy is a straightforward process that gives you complete control over your investment criteria.
Here is a step-by-step guide to creating your first strategy:
1. Navigate to the auto invest section
Once you are logged into your Debitum account, click on "Auto Invest" in the main navigation menu.
2. Create your new strategy
You will see an option to "+ Create new plan". Click this to open the strategy settings.
3. Define your investment rules
This is the most important step, where you tell the system exactly what kind of assets to invest in. You will set the following parameters: By incorporating strategic elements like monthly investing and long-term portfolio planning, you can align your investment rules to suit both immediate and future financial goals.
Exclude manually invested financial instruments
This is a key diversification control. If you check this box, this Auto Invest strategy will not invest in a specific financial instrument (like a specific set of ABS) if you have already invested in that same instrument manually. This prevents you from unintentionally over-concentrating your funds in a single asset.
Financial instrument type (ABS / NOTE)
This allows you to select the specific structure of the investments you want. Our platform offers investments regulated as:
ABS (Asset-Backed Securities): Your investment is backed by a pool of underlying assets (e.g., business loans).
NOTE (Promissory Notes): This is a direct debt instrument issued by a loan originator or partner.
You can set your strategy to invest in only ABS, only Notes, or both, based on your preference.
Financial instruments return, p.a.
This is the annual interest rate. You set the minimum (and optionally, maximum) percentage you are willing to accept. The strategy will only invest in loans that fall within this specified range.
Financial instruments term, months
This defines the length of the investment. You set the minimum and maximum term in months (e.g., 6 to 18 months) that you are comfortable with.
Maximum investment amount Practical Examples:
For a 100 EUR monthly deposit and a goal to diversify across 10 assets, set the cap to 10 EUR per asset.
To focus on fewer, higher-value assets, adjust the cap to align with your strategy (e.g., 25 EUR per asset for 4 assets).
This is a crucial risk management setting. It defines the maximum amount this strategy will place into any single loan/instrument. We recommend keeping this number low to ensure your portfolio is well-diversified across many different assets. Additionally, leveraging Auto Invest to meet monthly investment targets ensures consistent contributions to your portfolio's growth.
Consider adjusting the per-asset investment cap based on your monthly contributions and target asset count for each cycle, optimizing strategy outcomes. For instance, splitting your monthly investment of 75 EUR across multiple assets with a per-asset cap ensures broader diversification, reducing individual asset risk.
Loan originators
This gives you full, transparent control. It allows you to select which of our rigorously vetted Loan Originators (Brokers) you want to invest with. You can select all of them or 'hand-pick' only the ones you prefer.
Payment of interest (e.g., Daily)
This filter lets you specify the interest payment schedule. You can select, for example, 'Daily', 'Monthly', 'Quarterly', or 'End of Term' to ensure the investments match your cash flow preferences.
Minimum wallet balance
This is a very useful control feature. It allows you to set a 'floor' for your cash balance. The Auto Invest strategy will not invest any funds below this amount, keeping that cash available for you to withdraw or invest manually.
Auto withdrawal
This advanced feature is available for investors with an outstanding balance above €10,000. When enabled, it allows you to automatically withdraw your earned interest to your bank account, providing a seamless way to receive your returns.
Enable auto invest?
This is the main 'On/Off' switch for this specific strategy. You can set up all the rules, SAVE the strategy, but keep it disabled. Toggling this 'On' activates the strategy, and it will begin investing on your behalf.
Auto invest 1h/day?
This is a performance control. By default, your strategy runs several times a day to catch new opportunities. If you check this box, this strategy will only run during a specific one-hour window each day. This is useful if you have multiple strategies and want to prioritize them (e.g., have one main strategy run all day, and a secondary one run for only one hour).
